Review by hotel critic
Our weekend getaway at Berehaven Lodge was an absolute delight! Nestled in picturesque Castletownbere on the stunning Beara Peninsula, the lodge offered the perfect family retreat where we felt right at home. The house was impeccably clean and featured a fully-equipped kitchen - exactly what we needed to whip up our meals while surrounded by nature. Plus, I adored the open fireplace for cozy evenings after exploring the local sites. The beautiful garden area and private rocky beach were wonderful spots for relaxing and watching the local wildlife. I must mention how thoughtful it was to have groceries stocked for a hearty breakfast waiting for us upon arrival, ensuring we could dive straight into holiday mode without the hassle of shopping. For those looking for a bit of adventure, the scenic surroundings invite cycling and fishing, and if you fancy a bit of pony trekking, local riding schools are just a stone's throw away. All in all, Berehaven Lodge exceeded our expectations, and my daughter particularly loved the child-friendly play area. We’ll definitely be back for another enchanting family escape!
